The Honey Hole

And if you've ever wondered why so many old Florida shipwrecks have never been found...

or why the ones they do find always seem to be missing the good stuff...

Saylor probably knows something about it.

For generations, she's been slipping through broken hulls, gathering coins, jewels, silver, odd little trinkets, tiny keepsakes, and anything else that catches her eye.

Then she hauls it all back to a secret place tucked so deep beneath the blue that no diver has ever found it.

Her honey hole.

Saylor won't say where it is.

The dolphins know.

The seahorses probably know.

But nobody's talking.

Because every siren needs a treasure chest.

Saylor just happens to have several hundred years' worth.

The Call of the Shore

But treasure isn't the only thing that pulls Saylor toward the surface.

She has always been fascinated by land.

Especially the women she sees there.

The ones in cutoff shorts and cowboy hats.

The ones dancing barefoot beside bonfires.

The ones driving trucks with the windows down and country music turned up.

The ones wearing boots into town and kicking them off the second they reach the beach.

Saylor thought they were the most interesting creatures she'd ever seen.

So whenever the moon was high and the tide was right, she would swim toward shore.

Boots, Beautiful Boots

That simply would not do.

So Saylor began studying the humans more carefully.

Boots were beautiful, she decided.

Cowboy boots were particularly beautiful.

She desperately wanted a pair.

But even Saylor had to admit that swimming back to sea in cowboy boots presented certain logistical problems.

Then one afternoon, she spotted a woman walking along the beach wearing the simplest little shoes she'd ever seen.

Flip flops.

Easy on.

Easy off.

Made for sand.

Made for water.

Made for wandering.

Saylor was mesmerized.

There was only one problem.

They were boring.

One plain color?

Absolutely not.

A siren who raced dolphins, rode seahorses, and had a hidden fortune in shipwreck treasure wasn't about to come ashore looking ordinary.

Then Came the Treasure

Once she had the colors, Saylor knew her flip flops were still missing something.

So she went back to the honey hole.

She reached into centuries of treasures and began pulling out the little pieces that meant something to her.

A tiny horseshoe.

A cowboy hat.

A boot.

A mermaid tail.

A heart.

A shell.

A coin.

A star.

A microphone for the music that had always called her toward shore.

Those treasures became her charms.

Little pieces of adventure.

Little pieces of history.

Little pieces of Saylor's hidden world.

And every time another siren chose a charm, she carried a little bit of that story with her.

The Dirtfoot Siren

So if you're standing on a Florida beach just after sunset and you see a blonde girl in a cowboy hat walking out of the surf...

look down.

If she's wearing the best pair of flip flops you've ever seen, you just might have found Saylor.

The original Dirtfoot Siren.

Part mermaid.

Part cowgirl.

Part treasure thief.

All Florida.

And always ready to make landfall.

Every saltwater siren needs a pair of flip flops when she makes landfall.

Choose your colors.
Choose your treasure.
Make landfall.

Beach Soul. Dirt Road Heart.

The Legend of Saylor

The Original Dirtfoot Siren

They say far beneath the turquoise water off the Florida coast lives a mermaid named Saylor.

But Saylor has never been particularly good at behaving like a proper mermaid.

While the other sirens comb their hair on coral reefs and collect pearls, Saylor races dolphins through the Gulf Stream.

She rides wild seahorses across the sea grass like tiny underwater broncs.

She chases tarpon through silver schools of baitfish, explores shipwrecks for forgotten treasures, and has been known to disappear for hours whenever she hears music drifting down through the water from somewhere on shore.

Every Treasure Has a Story

And if some of the treasures in her honey hole look strangely familiar, there's a reason for that.

Tiny horseshoes.

Cowboy boots.

Hearts.

Stars.

Shells.

Coins.

Mermaid tails.

Bits of silver and gold.

Little reminders of people, places, adventures, and stories from long ago.

Those treasures became the inspiration for the charms Saylor wears on her flip flops.

And now, when you choose a Dirtfoot Siren charm, you're choosing a little piece of her story too.

Maybe yours was inspired by something she pulled from an old shipwreck.

Maybe it came from a treasure chest buried beneath the reef.

Maybe it reminds her of a cowgirl she once watched riding along the shoreline.

Saylor isn't telling.

That's part of the fun.

Every charm has a story.
Every treasure came from somewhere.

And somewhere beneath the Florida blue, Saylor's honey hole is still growing.

Making Landfall

Every saltwater siren knows what happens when a mermaid makes landfall.

The moment Saylor's tail touched the warm Florida sand...

two legs appeared.

The first time it happened, she was thrilled.

For approximately twelve seconds.

Because Saylor quickly discovered something nobody had bothered to mention about becoming human:

Sand is HOT.

She took three steps toward the dunes, yelped, and sprinted straight back into the water.

The dolphins thought it was hilarious.

Saylor did not.

Colors From the Florida Blue

So Saylor started collecting colors from beneath the waves.

Turquoise from the shallows.

Coral from the reef.

Silver from flashing baitfish.

Gold from the sunset hitting the water.

Cream from the shells.

Pink from the evening sky.

Black from the deepest water.

Orange from the Florida sun.

And when she couldn't decide which colors belonged together...

she invented a wheel.

One circle of colors for the soles.

Another for the straps.

Spin one.

Spin the other.

Wherever they landed, Saylor had her next pair.

Choose Your Colors. Choose Your Treasure.

Soon, mermaids from every reef wanted a pair of their own.

Some chose bright colors.

Some chose quiet ones.

Some covered their straps in treasure.

Some picked just one charm because it reminded them of somewhere they'd been, someone they loved, or somewhere they still dreamed of going.

No two pairs had to look alike.

That was the whole point.

Because no two sirens are exactly alike either.
